Beaverlodge Cultural Centre
Beaverlodge is very fortunate to have an exceptional number of talented artists and craftspeople. Our Cultural Centre is a great place to be introduced to their work.
The Cultural Centre features a lovely tearoom, art gallery, gift shop, a large potters and weavers studio and more. The building itself was originally the town’s hospital for many years. The Cultural Centre is also home of the community’s archives, our Historical Assocation, artists, musicians, and a picture framer. You will find them in the 1937 hospital building located behind the big Beaver! Many art and craft courses are offered throughout the year. The art gallery features a new show every month.
The location of the Cultural Centre is just off the highway in the old building behind the Big Beaver, (512 5th Avenue), and it features a new show every month. They open daily (except Mondays) Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and weekends from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come see works done by local artists and enjoy a cup of tea in our lovely pink tea room. The Centre carries local art work, including pottery & stained glass as well as many historical books that are offered for sale. For more information call Debbie Ducharme at 780-354-3600.
We now have copies of David Leonard's most recent book, "The Last Great West: the Agricultural Settlement of the Peace River Country to 1914" available in our Gift Shop. We also carry numerous other historical books that you might want to add to your collection. Remember to check out the many varied items in the Gift Shop. New items are always being added. Visitors are always welcome.
