There has not been a change in rates since 2012 however, the costs
of operations and required infrastructure renewal have increased. Approved increases to utility rates and
charges will come into effect and be reflected on your next Utility bill.
The rate increase for the average customer is a modest $2.52
increase per month. Overall, this is a
4.4% increase that equates to approximately 1.4% per year since the last
increase in 2012.
The Town has been preparing its water and sewer budget based on
best practices for a number of years.
There is no reliance on the tax rate to support the operational needs of
the water and sewer operations. Water
and sewer rates are set on a full cost recovery basis. These rates ensure the annual operating costs
are covered and the long term capital renewal needs are planned for.
Beaverlodge’s new Utility Rates continue to be among the lowest

Water Conservation By-Law #885
The Town of Beaverlodge has a water conservation by-law in place. This is very important as it helps us to conserve and protect our water supply, while still allowing residents to water their lawns and keep them looking beautiful.
Normal watering days for odd numbered houses are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and for even numbered houses Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Watering may only be done during the following hours: 6 – 9 a.m. and 7 – 11 p.m. Flowerbeds and vegetable gardens may be watered by hand, at any time, using a watering can or a hose with a nozzle with a trigger shut off to restrict water flow. Children’s water toys may be used for recreational purposes as long as the children are present.
These are level 1 restrictions and fines can be levied if they are not adhered to.
