What Does a Councillor Do?

Great question! Here’s a quick (and only slightly exaggerated) breakdown:

Make big decisions about things like roads, recreation, and budgets.

Listen to residents (including the passionate ones at the grocery store and the post office and the hardware store and, well everywhere really).

Ask smart questions in meetings and pretend you understand all the acronyms.

Help move the town forward, one motion at a time.

You’ll be part of a team helping shape everything from the next playground to long-term planning. And yes, sometimes there are snacks.
